More busy things activities 25.3.20
Good Morning Year 2,
I hope you are all well today.
I’ve put a few more activities on busy things today. There is a literacy activity, a maths activity and some Spanish from Mr Gonzalo.
On Wednesdays in school we would normally do Computing so I would also like you to try a computing task on busy things today. Go to Year 2 Mrs Legg – Computing – Busy Code – Code Disco. Then click on “Tutorial 1: The Basics” and work through that.
I’ve noticed that not as many of you have been completing the activities in the last few days as last week. Do keep going with them and keep writing me messages on here to let me know how you’re getting on – it really cheers me up to hear from you and I’m sure you enjoy hearing from each other too. If you notice that one of your friends hasn’t been joining in much, maybe you could ask a grown up to send them a message to make sure they know what’s going on!
Have a lovely day everyone. I’ll be checking this blog regularly today so just ask if you have any questions.
Lots of love,
Mrs Legg

Two new things for today 24.3.20
Good morning Year 2!
How are you today?
I have two new things for you this morning.
First, have a look at the Year 2 Class Page on the school website. There you will find some more Spanish activities from Mr Gonzalo and an art activity that children across the country are doing to cheer people up. It would be great if you took part, too!
Second, we love singing in school together! One of my favourite song websites has put up some of its songs for you to learn whilst you’re at home. There is a different song for each day. Have a look here –
https://www.outoftheark.co.uk/ootam-at-home/?utm_source=homepage&utm_campaign=ootamathome2&utm_medium=banner
Let me know which song is your favourite in the comments.
Please keep sending me messages in the comments. I love hearing from you every day. 🙂
Have a happy Tuesday everyone.
Love Mrs Legg

It’s a beautiful sunny Monday! 23.3.20
Good morning Year 2!
I hope you all had a lovely weekend with your families. I played lots of board games with my husband but sadly he beat me every time! I’ll have to keep persevering until I manage to beat him!
It’s time to pick up your home learning packs again today. In Literacy you should be reading a little more of Peter Rabbit and then there is a writing task for you to do. Perhaps a grown up could help you type your writing into a comment here – I’d love to read it! In Maths you’ll be solving some problems about time. Then you can choose one of the Other Subjects activities to do – let me know which one you choose! I’ll also put some more activities on busy things – today there will be some Science because that is what we normally do in school on Mondays.
Don’t forget to join in with the PE lesson at 9am, too!
Keep smiling Year 2. I’m so proud of all you’re doing.
Love from Mrs Legg

How to do PE at home 20.3.20
Good afternoon Year 2,
How have you been getting on with your home learning packs? Today you should have been doing the Beatrix Potter reading comprehension. What did you learn about her? Write in the comments to tell me!
I hope you’ve been getting on well with learning to tell the time, too. This is something you can practise throughout the day.
I also have some exciting news for you about PE. A man called Joe Wicks is going to be doing PE lessons on YouTube every week day (Monday – Friday) at 9am. They are specially made for children to do at home. This would be a great thing for you to join in with as it’s really important that we keep active. I can’t wait to have a go! You will be able to find them here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rYQ and there is also a link on the Year 2 page of the school website.
I won’t be writing anything here over the weekend (because we wouldn’t normally see each other at the weekend!). Take a break from your home learning packs on Saturday and Sunday and instead do things like going for a bike ride, baking or playing a board game (those are the things I’m planning to do). Send me a comment to let me know what you get up to.
I’m really looking forward to reading all of your messages on Monday.
Take care,
Mrs Legg

How has your first day at home been? 19.3.20
Hello Year 2,
I hope you’ve all enjoyed your first day at home. It’s been very quiet for me without having all of you around!
I’m sure you’ve made a good start on your home learning packs. If you have any questions about them, or about anything else that is happening, then do send me a message on here. Even though I’m not seeing you every day, I’m still your teacher and I’m still looking out for you.
I’ve spent some time today finding different online activities that will help with your learning. Keep checking the blog and I’ll post some links soon.
Keep being kind to your families at home and keep washing your hands!
Love from Mrs Legg

Welcome to our Year 2 blog!
Hello Year 2!
Well done for finding your way to our blog.
I’m looking forward to writing you messages here every day in the coming weeks. Please send me your replies by clicking on the “leave a comment” button at the bottom of this post. Remember, nobody else can see your comment until I have read it but I will make it public if I think other children would like to read it, too.
Keep up with your home learning packs, keep safe and stay sensible.
Take care,
Mrs Legg
