How to do PE at home 20.3.20

Good afternoon Year 2,

How have you been getting on with your home learning packs?  Today you should have been doing the Beatrix Potter reading comprehension.  What did you learn about her?  Write in the comments to tell me!

I hope you’ve been getting on well with learning to tell the time, too.  This is something you can practise throughout the day.

I also have some exciting news for you about PE.  A man called Joe Wicks is going to be doing PE lessons on YouTube every week day (Monday – Friday) at 9am.  They are specially made for children to do at home.  This would be a great thing for you to join in with as it’s really important that we keep active.  I can’t wait to have a go!  You will be able to find them here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rYQ and there is also a link on the Year 2 page of the school website.

I won’t be writing anything here over the weekend (because we wouldn’t normally see each other at the weekend!).  Take a break from your home learning packs on Saturday and Sunday and instead do things like going for a bike ride, baking or playing a board game (those are the things I’m planning to do).  Send me a comment to let me know what you get up to.

I’m really looking forward to reading all of your messages on Monday.

Take care,

Mrs Legg

Friday – Fidget Spinners Text

Hi Year 3,

Thank you for all your wonderful comments on my post yesterday! It was so lovely to hear from you all.

I have given you two assignments (a grammar and a maths) on Busy Things for you to get started on and I have given you until Sunday to finish them.

For your Computing today, please go to the Computing icon in Year 3, go to Busy Code, Code Disco and try Tutorial 1: The Basics.

Also, you should have read the reading comprehension on Fidget Spinners today. What was the most interesting thing you learnt about them?

Love Miss Gluyas

PS. AREEJ – I loved your blog post about pancakes that you made but I am not going to post it until we all have a chance to make our own posts later on. Enjoy the pancakes!

Hello again year 5,

I have uploaded a geography project and a maths symmetry maker and activity, if you have not yet got your learning packs at home… Regarding Spanish, activities and games will pop up every Wednesday for you to complete.

Remember to use this time to learn your timetables if you know it’s something you need to do and read as much as possible. Enjoy!

Day 2

Dear Year 6,

So pleased to see so many of you accessing Busy Things.  I have just assigned 3 new activities on there for you all to have a go at:

Grammar – Types of determiners.

Maths – Numerical order: fractions, decimals and percentages.

Science/Geography – World climate zones 1.

It is also so nice to hear from you via this blog.  I hope you are finding it useful.

I know many of you have been asking me to post a picture of my Dad’s cat Oreo.  I am looking into a way that I can do this, as I cannot copy and paste straight into this page.

I am looking into virtual tours for you to access online, and have just found one for the British Museum.  Follow the link below:

https://artsandculture.google.com/partner/the-british-museum

I am also updating each class page on the school website.  There will be extra Spanish activities from Mr Gonzalo, and even a link to ‘The Body Coach TV’, where you will be able to take part in online workouts from Monday!

Take care all of you and please keep in touch.

Miss Cooley

How has your first day at home been? 19.3.20

Hello Year 2,

I hope you’ve all enjoyed your first day at home.  It’s been very quiet for me without having all of you around!

I’m sure you’ve made a good start on your home learning packs.  If you have any questions about them, or about anything else that is happening, then do send me a message on here. Even though I’m not seeing you every day, I’m still your teacher and I’m still looking out for you.

I’ve spent some time today finding different online activities that will help with your learning.  Keep checking the blog and I’ll post some links soon.

Keep being kind to your families at home and keep washing your hands!

Love from Mrs Legg
