Year 2 – Happy Summer Holiday!
Dear Year 2,
Today is the last day of Year 2! Can you believe it?
I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that this year has been very strange. The word that grown-ups keep using is “unprecedented” and it means that nothing like this has ever happened before. It’s been 4 months since we sat in a circle on the carpet at the end of the day and I told you the sad news that school had to close – I remember quite a few of us were crying then! But since then, you have adapted to new ways of learning and settled into new routines amazingly well. I know it won’t always have been easy – and you must remember to say a big thank you to your grown-ups at home for helping you, too – but you have all done your absolute best and I am very proud of you.
I think I am incredibly blessed to have taught all of you for two whole years! When you come back to school in September, you’ll be in Year 3 with a new classroom and a new teacher. Things will look a little bit different in school because we still need to be extra careful to keep each other safe, but I know you’re going to love being back. We can’t wait to see you again!
Now it’s time to enjoy the summer holiday. Keep safe, keep being kind, keep reading…and have lots of fun!
Do send me one final message on the blog when you’ve read this so I can say goodbye to you personally.
Love from Mrs Legg
