Year 2 Monday 20th April
Good morning Year 2!
Welcome back to our online school. I hope you had a lovely Easter holiday. I had a very restful time doing lots of reading, baking and playing games. My husband and I have a competition to see who can win the most games. At the moment, he has just one more point than me!
Learning from now on is all going to be on here, so you must check this blog every morning so you know what to do each day. When you have read it, please can you comment so I know. You could just say “Good Morning Mrs Legg”, if you like – it will be like taking the register in school! On Friday, school will send you some paper learning in the post which you will need for what I write on here next week. This week, however, all you need is right here! Our theme for this week is ALL ABOUT FOOD.
Here is a suggested timetable for the day. However, if you and your families have a different timetable that works for you, that is ok.
9:00 – 9:30 PE with Joe (link on school website)
9:30 – 10:30 Literacy. Click on this link and follow the instructions on the slide. Make sure you only do the activities for today’s date.
//app.pobble.com/lessons/preview/35205df4
Take a break.
11:00 – 12:00 Maths. Here are some problems for you to solve. There are some extra activities on BusyThings if you have time.
Lunch Time
1:00 – 1:30 Reading. I have a fantastic website for you to practise your reading on. You will have to ask your grown ups to set up an account for you (Clickl Register now for a free trial), but it doesn’t cost any money. The website is:
If you don’t want to use that website, that is ok. You can read a book you have at home.
1:30 – 2:15 Science. Use this link for your Science learning today. Like Literacy, it is all about food!
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zx882hv/articles/z3c2xnb
Take a break.
2:45 – 3:30 Creative Choosing Time. Do something creative here that you choose. You could do some drawing, painting, singing, writing, cooking, building – it’s up to you! Try to stick to our “All About Food” theme. Remember, you can send photos of things that you do to photos@allsoulsprimary.co.uk I’d love to see them!
I know that there is lots of information here so just do the best you can and please don’t worry if you don’t manage to do everything. This is here to help you with your learning at home – if you do things slightly differently, that is ok.
I’m looking forward to speaking to you and your families this week – ask your grown ups to keep an eye on their phone so they answer when I ring!
Have a lovely day everyone.
Love from Mrs Legg

Happy Easter Year 2!
Hello Year 2,
I hope you are enjoying the holidays. I had a lovely weekend celebrating Easter with my husband. We spoke to friends and family, cooked some yummy food and ate lots of chocolate! We also watched the services from All Souls Church – there are links on the school website if you would like to watch them, too.
How has your Easter holiday been so far? I have been reading some books, baking and going out for runs. I’ve also been doing a lot of singing and playing my other instruments. My husband needed a hair cut but, because all the shops are closed, I had to do it! I was really scared because I’ve never cut anyone’s hair before but, thankfully, it looks ok!
Let me know what you’ve been up to. Next week I will start blogging every day again with new exciting learning for you.
Keep smiling everyone. You’re all stars!
Lots of love,
Mrs Legg

Year 2 Happy Holiday Week 1
Hello Year 2!
It’s the first day of the Easter Holiday! I want you all to know that I am still thinking of you all over the holiday. I hope you have lots of fun at home and take a break from your learning packs to enjoy being with your family. I am planning to spend a lot of time reading books, baking and I might even do some painting, too. What are you going to do? If you’d like some ideas for fun activities you can do at home, then do have a look on the school website. There are a few more ideas here, too:
Busy Things has an Easter Egg Hunt competition underway – if you find 5 eggs, you get entered into a prize draw and two winning schools will win prizes…
https://www.busythings.co.uk/play/
Here are some Busy Things Easter activities that you can print off and complete…
All Souls Church have online services taking place on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We didn’t get to have our own Easter service this year, so if you would like to you can join these ones.

Here is a link to the All Souls C Zone, where Bible stories for children are shared by some faces you might recognise!

Remember, you can now send photos of everything you are doing to:
photos@allsoulsprimary.co.uk
I can’t wait to see all your photos!
I’ll check for comments on here every day and will write to you again next Monday.
Keep choosing to be kind. 🙂

A message from Mrs P.
Well done everyone for all your hard work at home for the last 2 weeks. Today marks the end of the Spring term and it is now time for you to relax and spend time with your families for the next 2 weeks.
Over the Easter break the teachers will be busy planning new paper work packs for you all, which will be delivered to you at home at some point over the first week.
In the meantime, please make sure you are checking your class bogs for messages from your teacher. During Week 1 of the Summer Term, the teachers will be setting you some new maths and Busy Things activities and I will be setting you a creative writing challenge each day.
We are missing you all and think about you every day. Remember keep reading, keep moving and keep on being kind to your families.
Mrs Plesniak
