Good morning Year 2!
Welcome back to our online school. I hope you had a lovely Easter holiday. I had a very restful time doing lots of reading, baking and playing games. My husband and I have a competition to see who can win the most games. At the moment, he has just one more point than me!
Learning from now on is all going to be on here, so you must check this blog every morning so you know what to do each day. When you have read it, please can you comment so I know. You could just say “Good Morning Mrs Legg”, if you like – it will be like taking the register in school! On Friday, school will send you some paper learning in the post which you will need for what I write on here next week. This week, however, all you need is right here! Our theme for this week is ALL ABOUT FOOD.
Here is a suggested timetable for the day. However, if you and your families have a different timetable that works for you, that is ok.
9:00 – 9:30 PE with Joe (link on school website)
9:30 – 10:30 Literacy. Click on this link and follow the instructions on the slide. Make sure you only do the activities for today’s date.

Take a break.
11:00 – 12:00 Maths. Here are some problems for you to solve. There are some extra activities on BusyThings if you have time.
Lunch Time
1:00 – 1:30 Reading. I have a fantastic website for you to practise your reading on. You will have to ask your grown ups to set up an account for you (Clickl Register now for a free trial), but it doesn’t cost any money. The website is:
If you don’t want to use that website, that is ok. You can read a book you have at home.
1:30 – 2:15 Science. Use this link for your Science learning today. Like Literacy, it is all about food!
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zx882hv/articles/z3c2xnb
Take a break.
2:45 – 3:30 Creative Choosing Time. Do something creative here that you choose. You could do some drawing, painting, singing, writing, cooking, building – it’s up to you! Try to stick to our “All About Food” theme. Remember, you can send photos of things that you do to photos@allsoulsprimary.co.uk I’d love to see them!
I know that there is lots of information here so just do the best you can and please don’t worry if you don’t manage to do everything. This is here to help you with your learning at home – if you do things slightly differently, that is ok.
I’m looking forward to speaking to you and your families this week – ask your grown ups to keep an eye on their phone so they answer when I ring!
Have a lovely day everyone.
Love from Mrs Legg

Yes but do I write my sentence’s on a blog in J2webby and send it to you?
Yes, that’s a good idea, you could do that. If you want to write them on paper and then type your best one into a comment that would be ok, too.

Good morning, Kaiya. I am well, thank you. Hopefully I’ll be able to speak to you later today!
HELP! Mrs legg we cant type directly onto the laptop our homework. What do we need to do? Ari
Are you taking about the Literacy, Ari? You won’t be able to type onto the slides unfortunately. I suggest you write your answers on paper and then type your best sentence into a comment here to show me.
And what about the maths homework? there were only 4 questions? am i also meant to share my responses to you here?
Literacy Homework
Oaty biscuites are better than oreos.
Boiled eggs and scrambled eggs contain fats.
Vegetables contain lots of energy.
Ari
Those are great sentences, Ari! I like the vocabulary you’ve used. I wonder if you could extend one of the sentences with a conjunction. You don’t need to share the Maths answers with me if a grown-up at home is able to check them for you, but let me know how many you got right! If you are able to answer them quickly then you can look on BusyThings for some more Maths activities.
Oaty biscuts are better than OREO biscuts because oats are healthier
Well done for using “because” this time. 🙂
Hi Mrs Legg
I just finished my math and will come back for the reading. Enjoy your lunch.
Good afternoon Mrs Legg. I loved taking to you even though I was a bit shy. How are you doing? Love Christian
Hi Christian. It was lovely to talk to you, too. I have had a lovely afternoon speaking to lots of other children.
Hi Mrs Legg,
I have finished all my learning today and made a food collage picture. Yesterday I feel off my bike again while going down a hill. I have lots of cuts and tore the skin all off my arm. I have to wear a bandage. It really hurts.
I miss you all and want to come back to school. I am reading a book from David Walliams called Slime. It is really good.
Love Eli
Hi Eli, you’ve had another accident?! Oh no! Going down a hill on a bike can be really fun, but not if you all off! You must have been very brave. Well done for today’s learning. Love Mrs Legg
I have good news! In my months and maths work i got full marks! there were 12/12 for months and 20/20 for maths!
Good job Minhaj!
Good morning Mrs. Legg
I am late but I will try and finish the work

Well done Christian. I like how you’ve used the conjunction “to” to add information to your sentences.
Hi Mrs. Legg are you well today?
I am well today, thank you Mia. I hope you are well, too!
Hi Mrs Legg I am very well today!
