Hi there Year Six – I miss you – Mrs P xx

Good morning Year 6,

I hope this message finds you all safe and well?  I have been looking at all the classes blogs and I am missing everyone very much. It is great to see so many of you completing the work set by your teachers on Busy Things and it is lovely to read your blogs.

I have been busy doing school work and making sure that Noah and Arlo are completing all of their on-line learning too.  Our whole family have been doing the workout with Joe every morning.  Such a great way to start the day, are any of you taking part?  We have also been doing some super stretching and some running.  Perhaps you should get an adult in your house to try and complete a weekly mile with you?

I have also been doing lots of reading and I hope you are too  (I’m sure you are!).  I’d love to hear about the books you’ve been reading and what you have liked about them.  I know many of you are fans of David Walliams and he is reading his new book to children if you log on to his website.

Needless to say there has also been lots of baking in our house!  We are trying not to make too many sugary things so I thought I would share a picture of the bread rolls we made yesterday but I am struggling to upload the photo. I will persevere and see if I can upload them later.    They were delicious by the way.  I know some of you have been baking too.

Would love to hear from any of you.

      Hi Aleena
Lovely to hear from you. Glad to hear you are reading. I have not heard of this book, is it good? Sounds like an adventure story of some kind.
This morning my whole family tried to do PE with Joe at the same time but it was a bit of a disaster as we kept bumping into each other!! I enjoyed the fact that he was able to play music today so I did lots of dancing too which has brightened my mood no end!!
Sending love and prayers to you and all your family.

Hello, how are you Miss Plesniak. I’ m doing well, yesterday I was video chatting my cousins and a decided to paint. It was nice; I finished and I am quite happy about it. But I’m still annoyed of how it looks. I hope you enjoyed your baking. I have been doing the papers in the pack and I’m a bit confused but also kind of not. I’m safe and well! But I have the reasoning papers missing and the first art assignment I read the pages but I couldn’t find a worksheet to do. Also on one of the math arithmetic paper I repeated a page. Don’t want to worry. I have been reading. I am reading a few books at a time such as the Skulduggery Pleasant series and I am re- reading the how to train your dragon books because I’ve only read the first one and I forgot what I wanted to say. I hope that you enjoy your day and to stay positive and calm.

      Hello Aidan
So lovely to hear from you. Great to hear you are reading lots. I love the How to Train Your Dragon series. Which is your favourite kind of dragon? I liked the sound of the one with 2 heads (can’t remember what it is called). I am reading a huge book at the moment (800 pages) all about Henry V111 and I am really enjoying it. Thankfully I have a kindle otherwise my arms would be aching!
Sending love and prayers to you an all your lovely family.

How lovely to hear from you!
My family and I are all very well thank you and coping well with all being home together. We are following a routine like the timetable we sent out. Noah, Arlo and I start the day with PE with Joe and then I have been doing things on the computer whilst the boys do their school work. We have been doing lots of cooking together. So far we have taught the boys how to make homemade hummous, vegetable soup, bread rolls and various yummy biscuits. We have also bought a skipping rope to exercise with and I have been keeping up with my running, early in the morning so I don’t come across many people.
What game were you playing? Arlo has a new Snowboarding game called Steep which he is really enjoying and he can play with his friends on line.
His Dark Materials is a great series to read – perfect Year 6 material – Did you know they are Mr Roman’s favourite books?

Good morning Miss Plesniak I hope you are well I am doing the work and I hope that you are well.
I hope that you would enjoy your book and have fun on the adventurous rollercoaster. I do not really have a favourite dragon. I have not read all the books yet so I am going too. I love all the dragons and the nightmare, black poison one. I hope that you are well!!!

      Hi Aidan

I did some research, it is called the hideous Zippleback!!! I think part of the reason I like it is the funny twins who ride it and are always arguing!
I am very well thank you, hope you and your family are well too.

    Good afternoon Miss Pleasniak,

It is so nice hearing from you and I am happy to hear you and your family are all OK. Me and my family are all OK too and we try to make use of the time indoors as best as we can. I was very sad for few days as my mum was at work and had to stay there but I was brave for my sister and helped out my dad with her.
My dad baked for us and cooked yummy treats .We face time my mum a lot when she was at work and had free time to call us and now she is off for 3 days and both me and my sister and my dad are spending most of our time together with her. Today she is cooking my favorite food -roast duck and I get to help out.
    Stay safe!!

      Hi Karim

Lovely to hear from you too and it sounds like you are being a superstar big brother! It must be very strange when your mum is not home but it sounds like you are being super brave – well done. I will be thinking of you all and giving you’re mum and all the amazing NHS staff a big clap at 8pm this evening.
I read an amazing poem about the NHS by Michael Rosen (the poet who wrote Chocolate Cake) this morning – it brought a tear to my eye and was a great reminder of the amazing job everyone in the NHS does. You should google it.

Roast Duck – mmmmm, that sounds so good!!! I am teaching the boys to make a new pasta dish this evening and tomorrow I’ve promised to make everyone homemade fish and chips as this is their favourite dish.

Sending lots of love to you and all your family

      Mrs P xx
