Good morning Year 2!
How are you all today? I hope you’re enjoying this lovely sunny weather. Yesterday I was at school. Every time I go to school I remember how much I miss you all! Today I am at home speaking with other teachers about how to teach Maths and Music better and thinking about all your writing activities for next term. Koala is still stuck up the bookcase – he hasn’t come down yet!
Below is everything you need for your learning today.
Literacy
Today, you are writing your information sheet about castles.
Maths
Find today’s maths sheet and get ready with a pencil. The video will tell you when to answer the questions on the sheet. To find the video, you need to go to this website:
https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-2/
When you are there, you need to click on Summer Term – Week 2 (w/c 27th April), Lesson 4 – Problem Solving. It looks like this:
TOP TIP – Draw pictures or diagrams to represent the information in the questions. Don’t try and do it all in your head!
Remember we are not following the dates on the website.
Optional Extra Maths Challenge:
Problem solving with bar models
Everything else you need for today is in your home learning packs.
Here are the links from the topic grid for this week (w/b 18th May). I will post them every day so you don’t need to do all the activities today!
Also remember to have a look at the RE Lessons blog one day this week to watch a video from Trevor.

Good morning Mrs Legg, How are you today?
Music: Songs to sing
I do not know what that means
Hi Mia. It’s a website where there are lots of songs with the words. You can sing along to them if you would like to, like when we do singing at school.
Good Morning Mrs Legg. I am very happy that I got to read to you yesterday on the phone. I hope you have a nice half term after tomorrow from Kaiya
Hello Kaiya. I was also very happy that you read your writing to me. Thank you. I hope you have a lovely half term, too.
