Year 2 Friday 22nd May

Good morning Year 2!

How have you been getting on with your learning this week?  What things have you been doing for fun?  Yesterday, I made ice-cream!  I’ve never made ice-cream before but it was really easy and tasted yummy!

You may have noticed that I am not setting assignments on Busy Things any more.  However, do still keep using the website and choosing your own activities to do there – it’s a great place to play some games and practise lots of your key learning from the year.

Today, most of you will get a delivery of your next home learning pack.  It is for after half term so don’t start on it straight away as you will need the blog posts to go with them!

I won’t be blogging next week as it’s the half term holiday.  I hope you have a lovely break from your school learning and can enjoy being outside and doing lots of exciting things!

Below is everything you need for your learning today.

Today, you are doing something a little bit different to finish our Castles and Knights topic.

Good morning and happy Thursday

Today is Thursday the 21st of May, what a lovely weather we have!

The weather is already summer-like so it’s probable that you want to go outside and enjoy the sun, it’s totally fine to go out but remember that we have to take some precautions:

  • Don’t get near other people than your family.
  • Avoid touching anything in the streets.
  • Wash your hands with soap when you return.

For your work today, remember to practise math, literacy and read with someone in your family. For this afternoon I think we can make our windows a little bit more colourful:

Click here to see  how to make a frame with colours for your windows.

Keep safe and be good!

Year 2 Thursday 21st May

Good morning Year 2!

How are you all today?  I hope you’re enjoying this lovely sunny weather.  Yesterday I was at school.  Every time I go to school I remember how much I miss you all!  Today I am at home speaking with other teachers about how to teach Maths and Music better and thinking about all your writing activities for next term.  Koala is still stuck up the bookcase – he hasn’t come down yet!

Below is everything you need for your learning today.

Literacy

Today, you are writing your information sheet about castles.

When you are there, you need to click on Summer Term – Week 2 (w/c 27th April), Lesson 4 – Problem Solving.  It looks like this:

TOP TIP – Draw pictures or diagrams to represent the information in the questions.  Don’t try and do it all in your head!

Remember we are not following the dates on the website.

Optional Extra Maths Challenge:

Problem solving with bar models

Everything else you need for today is in your home learning packs.

Here are the links from the topic grid for this week (w/b 18th May).  I will post them every day so you don’t need to do all the activities today!
