Good morning Year 2!
I hope you enjoyed your learning with your new packs yesterday. Today, I am going to start ringing you all to see how you’re getting on this week. I’ll be working through the class over the next few days so don’t panic if you don’t get a call from me today – I will ring you before the end of the week.
Here are today’s video lessons.
Literacy
I’m glad so many of you enjoyed the lesson yesterday. Here is Session 2. Get your writing book (from your home learning pack) ready, write today’s date, and then press play. The video will tell you what to do.
Maths
How did you find yesterday’s Maths lesson? Did you recognise the learning from what we had already done in school?
Find today’s maths sheet and get ready with a pencil. The video will tell you when to answer the questions on the sheet. To find the video, you need to go to this website:
https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-2/
When you are there, you need to click on Week 1, Lesson 2 – Recognise a half. It looks like this:
Please ignore the dates on the website as we are not following these.
Everything else you need for today is in your home learning packs.
On the activity grid in the home learning packs (w/b 27th April), I suggested some websites you could use for the activities. I have put links to those websites here as you might find it easier to click than typing in the links. I will re-post these every day so don’t feel you have to click on them all today!
Links to websites suggested in home learning packs:
***Also remember to have a look at the RE Lessons blog one day this week to watch a video from Trevor.

Hi, Mrs. Legg, I hope you are well! Did you give us a week 1? I didn’t get one!
Hi Mia! I didn’t give you a Week 1 one as that was last week before you got the packs and all the learning was on the blog. The pack starts from Week 2. 🙂
Good morning by the way!
Good morning Mrs Legg
Today I have done PE with Joe, literacy and math. After a break I am doing science – the dissolving project which I am looking forward to. I liked writing about dragons today. We are not going bike riding today because of the rain so we are going to watch the first movie of the Hobbit. I hope it is not too scary!
Good morning Christian. Well done! I’m glad you enjoyed writing about dragons. Enjoy watching the Hobbit! Let me know what you think of it. Love Mrs Legg
Good morning Mrs Legg
Good afternoon Mrs Legg yesterday I enjoyed making a warning poster about dragons and it was really fun because we had to write phone number at the end of it and I put my Dad’s phone number on it haha! from Kaiya
Hi Kaiya. I’m glad you enjoyed it! Does your dad know his number is on the warning poster?! Love from Mrs Legg
Hi Mrs Legg,
I’ve done my PE, maths, literacy, spelling, 1 min maths challenge and reading. I’m now doing writing then the science experiment which I’m looking forward too…. I may then look at BuzyThings…
I didn’t go out today as its cold and raining.
Ari
Hi Ari, well done! Did you enjoy writing about where to find dragons? I’m not going out today either for the same reason. Love from Mrs Legg
